Denby Dale, West Yorkshire, is a rural village with a history of baking 10 enormous pies.
Despite this, signposts of its heritage are limited.
Within my project, I aim to tell my local village’s record-breaking story in an accessible, engaging way, and celebrate the beauty of the village. I also aim to put Denby Dale ‘on the map’ as a historical food location (like Bakewell and Wensleydale), encourage local pride, and educate visitors on its rich history.
To develop the narrative of this story, I produced a storyboard, script, rhyming story, signage, 3 mural mockups and plaques.
